Anadarko CO Plant Fire Under Investigation

Anadarko Petroleum is recovering from a fire at its southern Weld County, CO, Sept. 13, officials said.

A call for a structure fire inside the plant went out at 9:25 a.m., said officials at the Fort Lupton Fire Protection District and the Weld County Sheriff’s office.

The plant sits just east of Weld County Road 31 at 16116 Weld County Road 22 in Fort Lupton. Weld County Road 22 ended up closed for more than an hour while firefighters battled the blaze, sheriff’s office spokesman Cpl. Matt Turner said.

No one suffered an injury in the fire and all employees ended up accounted for, Anadarko spokeswoman Robin Olsen said.

Anadarko is investigating the cause of the fire, she said. The cause, damage and further details of the fire were not immediately available Sunday.
