Arm Amputated in WI Food Plant

A 30-year-old woman suffered an arm amputation in an industrial accident in Random Lake, WI.

Emergency responders got the call to Lakeside Foods in Random Lake due to an industrial accident.

The woman suffered an amputation of an arm above the elbow, according to a press release from the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheboygan County Dispatch Center, utilizing newly implemented emergency medical dispatch procedures, talked on-scene personnel through life saving procedures until deputies arrived on scene to apply a tourniquet.

The victim was transported by Random Lake Ambulance to Aurora Grafton. From there she was taken by Fight for Life to Froedert Hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Random Lake First Responders, Random Lake Ambulance and Orange Cross Ambulance.

The incident remains under investigation.
