Chemical Mix Causes Fire at MS Chem Firm

A bad mixture of chemicals was behind a fire at Zeon Chemical on West 7th street in Hattiesburg, MS, Wednesday.

The fire broke out just after 9 p.m. and the cause was an apparent mix of wastewater combined with Toluene, according to emergency officials on scene.

The fire was brought under control just before 10 p.m. and emergency management officials are remaining on scene to monitor the incident.

There was no cause for evacuations, and Hattiesburg fire officials are continuing to monitor the situation.

There were no injuries in the incident.
