Chemical Spill at NJ Manufacturer

There was a chemical spill at Church & Dwight Company in Lakewood, NJ.

Police got the call about 3:40 p.m., said township police Sgt. Michael Young. There were no reported injuries.

About 200 employees were at the facility and they ended up going home, said Sgt. Erik Miick.

Miick did not know what chemical spilled, but described a cloud or plume that formed after the spill.

A HazMat team from Berkeley responded to the scene, along with Lakewood EMS and firefighters.

As of 5:30 p.m. authorities were still at the scene.
