Evac at WI Manufacturing Plant

CURT Manufacturing employees in the town of Washington, WI, evacuated June 10 after a plant fire.

The Altoona Fire Department received a call shortly before 2 p.m. about a fire in the back of the manufacturing plant building at 6208 Industrial Drive, a fire official said.

Smoke was visible from the rear of the building when firefighters arrived. 

All employees working at the site evacuated the building, and the fire was extinguished a short time later. 

By 3:30 p.m., employees were able to return to the building. 

No one suffered an injury in the fire, and no cause or damage estimate was immediately available, officials said.
