A fire at a rubber plant sent billowing smoke throughout an industrial area in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada, Thursday.

Dozens of rubber mats went up in flames at North West Rubber, a mat manufacturer, shortly before 10 a.m., sending huge plumes of black smoke into the air, fire officials said. Police said the haze was so bad it was affecting traffic.
