A 34-year old male worker suffered an injury during the incident. He ended up transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for facial trauma and chemical burns, Miller said.

Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office investigation determined the incident occurred when the worker mistakenly mixed two chemicals in a 2 ½-gallon sprayer. The sprayer over-pressurized causing it to explode, Miller said.

The room where the explosion occurred sustained minor damage, Miller said.
