Safety and security provider, exida, released SILAlarm, an alarm rationalization tool designed to take the guesswork out of alarm system design.
SILAlarm supports compliance with the ISA-18.2 alarm management standard and good engineering practices. It guides users through the alarm rationalization process tailored to reflect the requirements of a company’s alarm philosophy document. It serves as the master alarm database, recording the results of the alarm design (priority, limit, deadband, classification and suppression) as well the cause, consequence, time to respond and recommended operator response.
Alarm design details can export to automatically populate the control system configuration and to create operator alarm response procedures.
SILAlarm works with new and existing systems and is available standalone as well as integrated with exSILentia, exida’s suite of functional safety engineering tools.
