Safety Certification for Cameron

Cameron’s TK trunnion mounted ball valves gained functional safety certification per IEC 61508 from safety certification provider, exida.

The certification ensures the valves meet the functional safety requirements for Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 capable per IEC 61508.

For over 50 years, the TK trunnion mounted ball valve has seen use in the oil and gas industry for critical service applications, providing reliability, and safety over a long period of time.

“The capability of the Cameron process was confirmed through an extensive certification process that included the completion of a Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis (FMEDA),” said Steve Close, exida Evaluating Assessor.

“They demonstrated a solid understanding of the issues necessary to achieve high levels of functional safety.”
