This was the second fire to occur at the factory in three months.

On July 7, a machine caught fire causing about $12,000 in damage and lost production.

Acting District Chief David Wisniewski said Wednesday the amount of smoke and the paper filters used in the machine made the fire difficult to extinguish. There were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Metals USA provides a wide range of products and services in the heavy carbon steel, flat-rolled steel, non-ferrous metals, and building products markets.
