Smoke detectors sounded at 5:16 a.m. at Fullbore Innovations in the 6400 block of Northeast Colwood Way, just west of the Colwood Golf Club, said Lt. Rich Tyler, a Portland Fire Bureau spokesman.

The company manufactures plastic parts for aircraft and off-road vehicles.

Tyler said battalion chiefs called a second alarm to bring more firefighters to help douse the blaze, which had burned a hole through a second-story floor.

There were no injuries in the fire and the cause remains under investigation.
