Truck Hits Pipeline, Leaks Oil

A semi truck rolled over an oil pipeline Friday morning causing it to break and leak 1,000 gallons of oil in Bakersfield, CA, county health officials said.

The driver struck a cap on an injection well, and a large amount of water is leaking as well as oil, and there is no health concerns regarding the spill, officials said.

Hazardous Material teams from Kern County Public Health, as well as Kern County Fire, are assessing the situation at this time.

Cleanup crews remained on the scene throughout the day to assess the situation.
