There was a chemical leak Monday at a chemical manufacturing plant near Pasadena, TX.
The propylene leak happened Monday afternoon at the Flint Hills Resources Houston plant. Hazmat and the Channel Industries Mutual Aid responded to the incident.
The plant is in the process of a controlled shutdown while workers fix the leak, said officials at Flint Hills Resources.
The company issued a statement, saying: “There are no reported injuries and all employees and contractors have been accounted for. FHR’s number one priority is ensuring the safety of people and mitigating any potential effects to the environment.”
Flint Hills Resources operates “the world’s largest propane dehydrogenation facility” at the plant, the company said on its web site.
