Worker Hurt in Grain Silo Flash Fire

There was a flash fire at a Northern Partners North Grain Facility regulator at a grain dryer in Mendota, IL, Monday, officials said.

An outside company was making adjustments to the regulator when the flash fire occurred, said Mendota fire chief Dennis Rutishauser.

One person suffered an injury in the incident and he was flown from Mendota to OSF St. Anthony’s, Rockford, for burns to his hands and arm, Rutishauser said.

The flash fire was out when firefighters arrived and the ambulance was able to clear the scene at 2:12 p.m.
