ASRock Industrial, a manufacturer of Edge AIoT solutions, earned IEC 62443-4-1 industry security standard certification.

By following the IEC 62443-4-1 development processes, ASRock Industrial will continue to provide security in its Edge AIoT Platform products, reinforcing its mission to enhance cybersecurity standards and deliver secure solutions. AIoT is Artificial Intelligence of Things.

The IEC 62443-4-1 standard delineates a comprehensive secure development lifecycle specifically designed for the creation and maintenance of secure products within industrial automation and control systems. The certification shows the cybersecurity commitment across all stages of product development, from design inception through to the end of maintenance support.

From the outset of the product development process, ASRock Industrial obtained a secure by design approach, encompassing thorough security lifecycle management and patch management strategies.

“We are dedicated to delivering the highest quality and most reliable Robust Edge AIoT Platform products,” said James Lee, chairman of ASRock Industrial. “Obtaining the IEC 62443-4-1 certification not only marks an important milestone, but also demonstrates ASRock Industrial’s steadfast commitment to product information security and our determination to protect customer privacy.”

Users are becoming more aware of the need for cybersecurity certifications on products and the development process. They are starting to require these certifications in the request for proposal stage.

“This certificate is an important requirement for customers, when choosing suppliers of industrial automation and control systems,” Lee said. “It shows our product development and lifecycle management procedure are in full compliance with industry standards in accordance with the IEC 62443-4-1.”

In just one year, ASRock Industrial achieved the IEC 62443-4-1 certification. The company is looking to obtain the IEC 62443-4-2 certification for the iEP-5010G Series Industrial IoT Controller within the next six months. In addition, the company is looking to certify the rest of its products under IEC 62443-4-2.
