Lahti, Finland-based Peikko Group Corporation suffered a cyberattack the last weekend of 2024 that has affected its operations where it is continuing its restoring actions.

Peikko Group is a global supplier of slim floor structures and connection technology for precast and cast-in-situ construction since 1965. Peikko generated revenues of €262 million ($269.7 million) in 2023. Peikko is a family-owned and managed company that employs over 2,000 professionals.

When they first reported the hack on December 30, the company said in its initial advisory it reported the cyberattack to the police and other relevant authorities, including the National Cyber Security Centre in Finland. At the time its websites, emails, and phones were working normally as well as its Peikko Designer design tools. However, there were a number of tools and systems Peikko employees could not use.

On Dec. 31, the company said its recovery actions regarding the attack were progressing. The company said it was able to operate safely with the 3D modelling software Telka. Also, it was able to work in the cloud with customers through the Tekla Model Sharing collaboration tool.

Peikko had limited manufacturing activities and deliveries in some of its 12 factories, which did not have scheduled holiday breaks today.

Additionally, the company said “there is a possibility that some customer-related data may have been accessed and stolen during the cyberattack. At this stage of the investigation, the exact extent of the breach is still under investigation.”

On Jan. 2, Peikko was “operating with its Microsoft D365 ERP in 21 countries. Some additional features of the system remain limited; however, the system is functioning in all those countries. This means in practice, that Peikko is able to manufacture and dispatch products.”

Furthermore, there are some Peikko countries operating with an older ERP system normally without any issues or some Peikko countries currently forced to operate manually.

“Restoring actions are ongoing 24/7,” the company said in its Jan. 2 advisory.

“We regret that this incident has taken place, and we are committed to minimizing any disruptions caused,” the company said.

No further information was available as to what kind of attack Peikko suffered and who was behind it.
