Dominion’s 918-MW Millstone-2 nuclear reactor in Waterford, Connecticut, is now operating at 100 percent capacity after completing a two-day maintenance outage over the weekend.
The unit synchronized with the grid at 9:20 am EDT Saturday, Dominion said in a statement.

The adjacent 1,276-MW Millstone-3 was not affected by the shutdown and has continued to operate at 100 percent of capacity, according to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC) daily reports.
The company said Millstone-2 ended up manually shut down by operators Thursday “when a severe [lightning] storm affected the electrical supply to two of the four circulating water pumps and uninterruptible power supplies failed to function as designed. The station replaced those uninterruptible power supplies.”
