Camas, WA-based Northwest Paper Box Manufacturers suffered a cyberattack in June where personally identifiable information ended up stolen in the hack.
“On June 27, 2026, NW Paper became aware of unusual activity on their network and immediately launched an investigation which included working with third-party specialists,” the company said in a notice. “The investigation determined there was unauthorized access to a portion of NW Paper’s network between June 24, 2026 and June 28, 2026.”
As a result of the investigation, NW Paper conducted a comprehensive review of the relevant files and folders. They then determined the type of information the files contained and to whom it belonged.
On August 25, NW Paper completed their review and began to confirm address information for individuals affected in the breach. On September 1, NW Paper received the National Change of Address results and started sending out notification to affected people.
The type of information stolen in the attack included name and Social Security number.
On September 9, NW Paper mailed written notice to the potentially affected individuals via U.S. mail.
“In response to this event, we conducted a thorough investigation, notified law enforcement, changed network passwords, and reviewed our policies and procedures,” the company said in the notice.
Northwest Paper Box is a family-owned custom packaging manufacturer based in the Pacific Northwest. It produces set-up boxes, corrugated containers, and full-service packaging solutions.
