Dust Fire Forces Evac

Workers evacuated at the Valmet plant in Beloit, WI, Wednesday, after a dust collector fire, officials said.

All power ended up shut off from the building at the time of the fire. Photos posted on the Beloit Fire Department social media showed smoke coming from vents at the building.

Crews climbed up ladders to the dust collector and pulled filters out to access the blaze.

Smoked entered the building but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, fire officials said.

All employees evacuated safely and no injuries were reported. 

The fire remains under investigation.
