Emerson Deals for Net Safety

Emerson Process Management purchased Net Safety Monitoring, Inc., a maker of fixed toxic and combustible gas detectors, flame detectors, safety systems, and other safety and security products.

The deal expands Emerson’s capabilities to provide comprehensive process controls and safety monitoring for industrial environments.

For nearly two decades, Calgary, Canada-based Net Safety developed products for continuous performance in extreme conditions, particularly for the oil and gas industry.

“Together we will be able to help not only manage and control processes, but also ensure the safety of our customers’ people, facilities and property,” said Ken Biele, president of Emerson Process Management’s Analytical Group.

“Emerson’s technical leadership, global presence, and financial strength will help us expand our offerings and better serve our customers around the world,” said Net Safety chief operating officer Kevin Algar.

Net Safety and its offices in Calgary, Houston, Abu Dhabi, Beijing and Singapore will continue operating as a separate business within Emerson Process Management’s Analytical Group.

Terms of the deal and when it will close were not immediately available.
