Fire Out at TN Chemical Facility

A chemical fire at the Lonza Chemical warehouse facility in Bradley County, TN, is under control, officials said.

Firefighters got the call came at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, fire officials said.

Residents, who were asked to stay indoors for a short time, but were able to resume normal activities an hour later, according to the Bradley County Emergency Management Agency (EMA).

The company’s website said Lonza in Charleston, TN, also known as Arch Chemicals, employees 280 people. 

This facility is a manufacturing site for calcium hypochlorite (HTH™) and related pool and spa products. 

Bradley County EMA said no product was leaving the site.
