A fire broke out at a paper plant in Anderson, South Carolina, early Sunday morning, fire officials said.

Multiple fire departments responded to First Quality Tissue on Masters Boulevard at 6:08 a.m. Sunday, September 20, said officials with Anderson County dispatch. The company manufactures paper towels and bath tissue, according to the First Quality website and the Anderson plant opened in 2022.

There were no injuries in the incident. This is an active investigation, and fire officials are continuing the investigation into the cause of the fire.

First Quality Tissue had another fire in 2012, when a piece of machinery malfunctioned.

At the time of that fire, Stan Trevison, director of operations at First Quality, issued a written statement, saying:

Trevison said at the time an in-house investigation will take place as the smoke is cleared from the building.
