Man Suffers Amputation at TX Machine Shop

A 55-year-old worker ended up air evac’d to a hospital in Houston after having an arm amputated in an industrial accident in Pinehurst, TX.

The incident occurred at 10 a.m. Friday at the Triangle Rotating Equipment Specialists machine shop in the 1900 block of Strickland Drive.

The man was servicing a piece of equipment when the accident happened, said Pinehurst police Chief Fred Hanauer III.

He was flown by Acadian Air Med to Herman Hospital in Houston. Chief Hanauer said the man’s condition is unknown.

The Pinehurst Police Department, Pinehurst Fire and Rescue and Acadian Ambulance Service worked the incident.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the incident.
