OPC Connectivity for Wind Turbine Controllers

MatrikonOPC released its OPC Server for Vestas Wind Turbine Controllers.
Vestas Wind Turbine Controllers’ main focus is on commercial wind power generation systems. The OPC Server for Vestas Wind Turbine Controllers supports a different Vestas Wind Turbine Controllers, enabling users to integrate those controllers to other automation components in the enterprise such as HMIs, historians, ERP and more.
The OPC Server provides secure high-speed read and write access. The OPC server communicates with the controllers using the VMP Quest protocol. It communicates over RS232/485, USB, Fiber Optic, and Ethernet for the VMP 3500/4400/5000/6000 Controllers series.
The OPC Server for Vestas Wind Turbine Controllers will connect to unlimited points as well as provide access to the real-time data from the turbine controllers.
“This OPC Server was designed specifically with maximum integration in mind,” said Sean Leonard, Matrikon’s vice president of OPC products. “Ease of integration, the ability to monitor and control Vestas Wind Turbine Controllers’ data points and continuous technical support were all metrics applied when we designed this product.”
