Worker Killed at UT Rock Operation

A worker died after a tunnel he was installing at a Geneva Rock operation in Draper, UT, fell on him, officials said.
Lee MacKay, 57, died of his injuries March 14, Draper police said.

MacKay was trying to free the heavy chute that had become stuck when it struck him in the head, said Draper Police Sgt. Chad Carpenter.
Draper detectives and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the incident.
“We were saddened to hear today that one of our employees was injured and ultimately passed away in an accident on our facility,” said Dave Kallas of Geneva Rock.
